The National Association of Family Information Services (NAFIS) is a registered charity that supports, links and promotes Family Information Services (FIS) in Great Britain. NAFIS represents a network of quality Family Information Services across England, Wales & Scotland. NAFIS is advised by a Steering Group.

In June 2011, NAFIS merged with Daycare Trust and we are now working together to support families through local Family Information Services (FIS). Today, FIS are a vital resource for families, ensuring that they have reliable information about childcare in their local area, someone they can speak to about their childcare needs and access to extra support to find and take up the right childcare through brokerage services.

This section has information and resources for families and professionals about Family Information Services.

Conference Programme

Highlights this year were a panel discussion between DfE and DH on information as well as workshops including a follow up to the Making it Personal seminars earlier in the year. The London region will be presenting its Good Practice Working Group and it is, of course, a chance to network with colleagues from all over the UK. In addition there will be presentations of the Quality Award including Aberdeen, our first Scottish FIS to gain accreditation. Many congratulations to Buckinghamshire, Bristol and Central Bedfordshire who also received the award as well as Cardiff who have recently been re-accredited under the FFQA award scheme.

Main presentation and workshop slides from 2012 are still available to download.

NAFIS members can download additional resources from the event by visiting the NAFIS members' section of our website.
