Is there sufficient childcare in your area for parents who work outside normal office hours?
Is there sufficient childcare in your area for parents who work outside normal office hours?

For over 25 years, Daycare Trust has been championing childcare - campaigning for quality, accessible, affordable childcare for all. We do this because children are our future.
Just one generation ago, parents got only a few weeks of maternity leave, flexible working was rare, and early years education was for the privileged few. Many women in particular found it impossible to balance the desire for a career with family life due to the lack of a basic childcare infrastructure.
Since then there has been a complete transformation. In the last ten years in particular, we’ve seen a huge expansion of childcare places, free places for three- and four-year-olds, and a range of options that would have been almost unthinkable in 1986.
But there is still a long way to go. Parents in the UK contribute more towards the cost of childcare than in any other OECD country, and lack of childcare remains a barrier to work for many parents, particularly women.
Daycare Trust was founded by a group of people who believed in the cause of affordable childcare and early years education for all.
We bring the voice of parents to the heart of the childcare debate.
