Winners announced

The winners of theThe Chancellors Christmas Card Competition were announced at an awards ceremony at No. 11 Downing Street on 9 December 2009. The winners of the competition were Daniel Lee, aged two and Lucy Waller, aged ten, who received prizes for themselves and their childcare settings.

Keith Chapman, creator of Roary the Racing Car and Fifi and the flowertots, Sonali Shah from CBBC Newsround and Naomi Wilkinson from Five's Milkshake waded through the pile of over 400 entries for The Chancellors Christmas Card Competition to select the finalists of the competition.  The selected entries were sent to the Chancellor and his wife to choose the winning card, which will be used as their official No. 11 Downing Street Christmas card and e-card, and sent to over 1,500 people in the UK and across the world.

Daycare Trust would like to thank everyone who participated in the competition.

Keith Chapman, Creative Director at Chapman Entertainment and originator of Fifi and the Flowertots, Bob The Builder and co-creator of Roary the Racing Car comments:

“I was really impressed with the standard of entries this year. It is great to see British kids being so creative and imaginative at such a young age, and I am proud to champion such a fantastic charity which supports childcare in the UK.”

Sonali Shah, CBBC Newsround presenter said:

"This year's Christmas card/e-card entries were festively fabulous so well done to everyone who sent one in - receving any one of them over Christmas would put a big smile on my face.'' 

Naomi Wilkinson

 

Five's Milkshake presenter Naomi Wilkinson said:

"I thoroughly enjoyed looking through all of the wonderful competition entries, with so many amazing pictures on the table it made picking my favourites really tough. The lovely task of judging got me in to an early festive mood... I was singing carols all the way home and looked like a bauble as I was covered in so much glitter!!"
