Information for employers

Factsheets for employers

Supporting your staff with their childcare needs can benefit both you and your employees. The benefits of employer-supported childcare can include better recruitment and retention of staff, reduced absenteeism, a more motivated workforce, as well as financial savings for you and your employees.

You can help your staff with their childcare costs by offering a childcare voucher scheme. This can be administered externally, by a voucher provider company, or internally by running a self-administered scheme. You can also pay your employees' childcare provider direct by offering a directly-contracted childcare scheme. Information about all of these situations is provided in our factsheets for employers (see below). You will also find information about salary scarifice.

Abacus Voucher Solutions
www.abacusvouchers.co.uk

Abacus does not provide vouchers. It supplies templates and other essential documents enabling an employer to run its scheme in-house in full conformity with tax regulations but without the expense of buying vouchers from a voucher provider. Subscribers pay just the annual fee (see tariff) related to the number of people on the payroll. Using our materials, an employer can easily set its scheme up in less than half the time that its management would spend discussing arrangements with a third party provider seeking to generate commission for filtering sacrificed salary on its way to the employee’s child carer. Or the employer can save money by switching to Abacus.
