London childcare providers forum 2011
On 28 June 2011 Daycare Trust held its third annual London childcare providers forum, the key annual event of the project, building on the strong success of the first ones in 2009 and 2010.
The objectives were to:
- Provide an opportunity for London childcare providers to meet and share experiences.
- Identify top issues, that can influence policy at all levels.
- Provide updates on key policies.
- Celebrate and develop best practice.
- Promote a sustainable pan-London childcare providers network.
It brought together representatives from:
- nurseries, children’s centres, out-of-school clubs, childminders and local authorities;
- the maintained, private, voluntary and independent sectors; and
- providers from across the age range.
It enabled a cross-section of those working in London childcare to share ideas and identify key issues, and also hear from the Department for Education. It included plenary sessions, workshops, a London 'Question Time' panel and the results of our 2011 London childcare providers survey.
