Take part in our poll

Only two per cent of people who currently work in early years are male. Do you think there should be more effort to increase the numbers of men working in childcare and early years?

Parent Panel

Our ‘Parent Panel' offers parents from all around the country, who use childcare, the opportunity to take up free training in dealing with media interviews and public speaking.

Often, when childcare issues hit the headlines, or when the media are covering our campaigns, they want parents to give their perspective, and case studies to tell their stories.  We know there are loads of parents out there with both strong opinions and powerful stories about childcare to share, so what we're looking to do now is bring these people together,  train them up as our ‘Parent Panel' and let their voices be heard.

We will never pass your details on to a journalist without checking with you first, we would fit in any requests around times you're free, and you would never be obliged to do anything you weren't comfortable with. We are also in the process of planning a media training session for parents in the next few months, provided by a journalist from a top national newspaper, and Daycare Trust will pay for all of the training and meet any travel expenses you incur.

By joining our panel you can gain a range of new presentational skills and build confidence in public speaking.

You need to be a member of our Parent Network in order to become a Parent Panel member.

If you are interested in joining the panel, or just want to find out more, contact Veronica King at:vking@daycaretrust.org.uk or call 020 7940 7525.
