Policy, Research & Projects
Policy
Daycare Trust maintain a high profile through our policy work. We provide informed comment on key childcare issues to the media and government, ensuring that the benefits of childcare and the issues faced by parents are well understood.

Research
We conduct independent and robust research on behalf of a number of government departments, charities and research councils.
Our research aims to further the availability of sustainable, affordable and good quality childcare to all families; offering real choices to families to balance work and family life. We provide an interface between government, childcare providers, end-users and their parents.
Recent successes include leading the focus on listening to children in our policy work, which is being taken further in our Listening to Families project. We have also renewed the debate about good quality accessible childcare for black and minority ethnic families with the launch of our Ensuring Equality publication.

Projects
We undertake a number of projects with funding provided by various sources. Such projects can be focussed on a multitude of childcare areas depending on the source of the funding.
We are currently coordinating the 'London childcare providers network' as part of a project funded by London Councils. We have also previously delivered projects such as Parent Champions, a parent outreach project promoting take-up of formal childcare in disadvantaged areas, free training for advisers funded by Awards for All, and many other, details of which can be found in the Projects section.
