We conduct independent and robust research on behalf of a number of government departments, charities and research councils.
We are renowned for our research, which is central to our campaigning for local, affordable and high quality childcare for all. Our research brings together parents, childcare providers and policy makers, as we develop policy to offer real choices to families to balance work and family life.
Recent successes include ‘Quality Costs', a piece of ground-breaking research defining high quality childcare, and setting out how much it will cost to fund its roll-out across England. We are currently undertaking research into the use of informal childcare, a project funded by the Big Lottery Fund.

We run ongoing campaigns on childcare issues. We are campaigning against cuts to Sure Start Children's Centres which are currently taking place across the country.
