A relaxation in the number of pre-school children that nurseries and registered childminders can oversee has been announced in order to professionalise the pre-school workforce and cut the cost of childcare in England.
Many parents, grandparents and volunteers from the wider community might want to be involved in supporting your setting through business development, fundraising, marketing or website development. This kind of involvement may better suit those who work during the day and who can assist with evening meetings or from home.

Volunteer centres often keep a database of local volunteers who have skills in specific areas. They may not wish to volunteer directly with children but may have skills you need to support your business through a variety of ways.

Report reveals childcare is the luxury that families have to afford as figures show that nursery, childminder and after-school club costs are all rising at more than double the rate of inflation.
The two charities merged on 1 January 2013 and the new charity will be launched in April 2013.
