Daycare Trust lends its support to the work of other organisations who enhance and compliment the work we do and whose work supports the childcare agenda. Organisations and campaigns we support are detailed below.
The voice of parents together can make a difference, which is why Daycare Trust is supporting the Netmums campaigning guide.
Our recent survey of Children's Centre managers with 4Children showed that 250 Children's Cerntres face closure within the next year. If your local Sure Start Children's Centre is under threat, or you just want to find out more about childcare cuts in your area, then this is the place to go to. It's vital we stand up and let the decision makers know how important our children's centres are - Netmums will tell you everything you need about setting up your own campaign, contacting the right people, spreading the word and getting other parents together. It's campaigning made easy!
The Campaign includes children's and other charities, social justice groups, faith-groups, trade unions, businesses and many others concerned about the unacceptably high levels of child poverty in the UK who are working together for change.
The Campaign to End Child Poverty continues to raise the issue across the UK, in order to maintain the current pressure on Government to commit the resources necessary to halve child poverty by 2010 and end it by 2020.

Over the last 30 years the roles of men and women have changed dramatically but life around us has not caught up with this fast-paced social revolution. In order for society to progress we need to transform our workplaces, our services and our communities.

Thousands of schools, pre-schools and nurseries across the UK are being encouraged to take part in the first ever ‘Fathers' Story Week', launched by the Fatherhood Institute as part of a major campaign to encourage dads and father figures to play a greater role in their children's learning and development.
The week, which will run from 14 June up to Fathers Day on 20 June, is designed to involve early years and primary age children and their fathers - with a range of activities from counting and cooking with dad to finding out about their dad's background and upbringing.
The new Fathers' Story Week website, www.fathersstoryweek.co.uk , provides further information and free materials to schools taking part in the week-long event.
Daycare Trust supports the work of the Advisory Panel on Food and Nutrition in Early Years. Food standards in nurseries were reviewed by a panel of experts and nutritionists, to see if food and drink served to children in early years settings could be improved. The recommendations from the panel were included in a wider reveiw of the Early Years Foundation Stage and details of this review can be found here.
